Dental Implants Woodland Hills

Dental implants are a highly affordable and rather progressive method of replacing teeth that are missing in order to complete your perfect smile. A fact of life is that missing teeth can often impact an individual's self-esteem, their ability to communicate and even eat correctly. Plus, missing teeth can also impact other teeth – even causing them to shift out of alignment; creating more potential problems for the patient. It's for these and many other reasons that Mint Dentistry provides dental implant services – all designed to be affordable and to improve overall oral health and comfort.

Dental implants are completed at Mint Dentistry in a series of steps.

First Step – Consultation

The first step at Mint Dentistry for dental implants is to schedule a consultation with our dentists. This will verify that the patient is indeed a good candidate for dental implants – ensuring that the procedure will in fact be positive for our patients. During the consultation, the dentists will ask several questions about overall health – as well as inspect the gums and jaw for condition. In order for dental implants to successfully bond the gums and jaw bones must be in good condition.

Second Step – Impressions will be taken

After you and our dental team have met to determine that you are a good candidate for dental implants, you'll need to schedule an appointment to have a dental impression of the missing tooth (or teeth) completed. This will be used to create the crown that will be bonded to the implant. During this process, the patient is given an anesthetic for comfort while the dentist implants a titanium post into the jaw. During the healing process – which may take between 4-6 months, the dentist might give the person a temporary crown while the bone heals.

Third Step – Crown Fusion

When the titanium post has successfully fused to the bone, the patient then visits Mint Dentistry for a third office visit. At this time the crown will be affixed to the post. The prosthetic tooth that is custom made for each patient can match the patient's actual tooth color, size, and shape in such detail that the patient and the dentist would be able to tell the difference. Once the process is completed, the patient can resume a quality life and complete normal oral hygiene.
